I love developing and learning new technologies. I have a background in medicine but love computer programming. Much of the technology which I use now I have learned in the last decade though, not in college. And as newer technologies come out (eg, Tensorflow, Flutter, etc), my appetite to learn this technology is only limited by the time I have to learn. I look forward to trying out what I have learned in order to make the lives of those around me better.

SKILLS
Dialysis Health Information Exchange:
  • Provide perspective of a physician in regard to requirements, user interface and design
  • Work with separate dialysis vendors (Davita, Satellite, and FMC) to develop interfaces in corresponding EHRs
  • Determine proper documentation (CD32, CCDA, and EHR UI documents) using eHealth Exchange, FIR, and HL7

Kidney Biopsy Database:
  • Automate the process of collecting patient data into a single form to present to Stanford pathology
  • Collaborated with Stanford IT HIE team to exchange data
  • Along with REANT workgroup, develop a KP NCAL glomerulonephritis process for management of second opinions

Continuum Rounding Smart Tools:
  • Develop an electronic tool to meet the needs of physicians as well as federal CMS requirements
  • Work with KP NCAL developers to create macro for automating the dialysis rounding note process for all NCAL nephrologists

Department Technical Lead:
  • Attend regional meetings on strategic initiatives in EHR (Epic), physician web pages, consultation design, and telemedicine, including video visits, video language translation, secure messaging platforms (Cortext, Cureatr), and other emerging health technologies (Dragon Medical, Continuous Glucose Monitoring)
  • Lead monthly discussions with other nephrology DTLs regarding above topics.
  • Work with the separate nephrology work groups to develop and implement best practice functionality in EHR
  • Develop pertinent EHR technologies, such as Apheresis, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis order sets.
  • Work with pharmacy leads, nursing leads, and DTL consultants to develop technologies for KP NCAL nephrology.

Database Programming (MS Access and MySQL)
  • Track population statistics in a regional End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) database.
  • Design a Chronic Kidney Disease (Kaiser and at Stanford University) database, to slow progression of disease to ESRD.
  • Design kidney biopsy database for front-facing web interface for physicians.

Website Design, Web Server Installation
  • Designed SQL database for Leg8cy.com
  • Designed website for Medication Safety Foundation using CodeIgniter MVC framework, and Foundation’s and Twitter Bootstrap’s responsive web design.
  • Developed API using Slim PHP
  • Compose and implement a website to track the progress of the vascular access development in patient’s kidney disease

Pot Pie Paradise – Restaurant Ordering System
  • Program the front-end food ordering system for physicians
  • Create backend MySQL dataset for the food ordering service
  • Food order tracking for restaurant-facing interface

IT Innovations Grants
  • Program an interface to automate extraction of information from the Kaiser mainframe into a handheld to display patient data.
  • Design an online system of forms to allow expedited sharing and completion of documents between case managers, nurses, and physicians.
  • Evaluate transmission of clinical images via remote high-resolution camera to desktop computers (2005)
